Spain – Medical certificate of good health for visa

A medical certificate of good health is required by UK citizens able to support themselves who wish to stay in Spain for non-lucrative or study purposes for over 90 days (up to 1 year). It confirms the applicant’s good health and compliance with the International Health Regulations (IHR) of 2005.

Please note:
ZoomDoc only provides the medical certificate needed as part of the application process for a non-lucrative Spanish visa. After you receive your medical certificate, it will need to be translated into Spanish by a certified or sworn translator recognised by the Spanish authorities to ensure it is accepted by them. In addition, it will need to be apostilled (certified) by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) to ensure your certificate is legally valid in Spain.

After purchase, we will provide you with your unique certificate booking reference number, which will allow you to upload your medical evidence.

Once uploaded, our doctors will review your evidence on the same day (between 9am and 9pm GMT, 7 days a week) – they may call you if they have any questions.

Once validated, we will send your medical certificate to you by email and SMS; the original with a wet signature will be posted the next working day via Royal Mail Tracked 24.

We only provide full refunds if we are unable to provide a medical letter.

Once our doctors have provided a medical letter, we are unable to process a refund.

We will require you to:

✓ Upload a photo of your passport or driving license
✓ Complete a medical questionnaire
✓ Upload your digital NHS or private GP Summary Care Record
✓ Upload a 30 second video confirming your identity and that you have no infectious diseases
✓ Provide details of your regular NHS GP (if you have one)

Your Summary Care Record is a digital health summary with your NHS GP that shows your current health conditions and any significant past medical health conditions, medications and immunisations. You can access this information via the NHS app, or you can ask your GP surgery to send you a digital or printed version.

Yes – all our doctors are fully registered with the FCDO (Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office). Therefore, their signatures will be recognised when your medical certificate is legalised as part of the apostille process.

Our team will review your evidence and provide you with your certificate on the same day that evidence is uploaded (between 9am and 9pm GMT, 7 days a week).

Our medical certificates have QR codes that can be scanned to verify the document's authenticity. Once scanned, your personal online results portal is loaded, from where your medical certificate can be reviewed, and personal details confirmed.

Our medical certificate of good health for Spain (IHR 2005) is valid for 90 days (3 months) – this timeline is set by international guidelines.
